Whether you're booking your first massage or are a regular client, we want you to feel informed and comfortable before your treatment. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive about our services, pricing, techniques, and what to expect. This FAQ page is designed to help you make the most of your experience and is regularly updated to reflect the latest information. General Massage Questions

What types of massage do you offer at Indulge Massage Therapy?

I offer Swedish massage, Deep Tissue massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Hopi Ear Candling, Indian Head Massage and Facials, each tailored to your individual needs.

What is the difference between Swedish and deep tissue massage?

Swedish massage uses light to medium pressure for relaxation, while deep tissue massage targets deeper muscle layers to relieve chronic tension and pain. See my blog page for further information on this. 

How long is a typical massage session?

I offer 30, 45, 60 and 90-minute massage sessions, depending on your chosen treatment and preferences.

Can I book a massage online?

Yes! You can easily book your massage online through this website or by dropping me a message directly.

Are your massage therapists qualified?

Absolutely. I am fully qualified, insured, and have 8 years experience in delivering professional massage treatments.

Before Your Appointment

What should I wear to my massage appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be asked to undress to your underwear and you will always be properly draped during the treatment.

Do I need to arrive early for my first appointment?

Yes, ideally if you can arrive around 10 minutes early to fill out a brief consultation form (if you’re a new client) and for me to discuss your treatment goals.

Should I eat before a massage?

I recommend eating a light meal at least an hour before your session to avoid discomfort during your massage.

Can I request a specific therapist?

No! Your treatment will be with me, please check out my Google reviews if you have any concerns or hesitation. 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Just yourself! I provide everything you need, including towels, oils, and water after your session.

During the Massage

Will I be completely undressed during the massage?

Only the area being worked on will be exposed. You’ll always be covered with a towel or sheet for privacy and comfort.

What if I feel uncomfortable or in pain during the massage?

Always let me know. I can adjust pressure, techniques, or stop the session if needed.

Can I talk during my massage?

Of course. Some clients like to chat, while others prefer silence. I will be more than happy to follow your lead.

What if I fall asleep during the massage?

It’s totally normal! Many clients doze off — it's a sign that your body is fully relaxed.

Is it okay to listen to music during the session?

Yes, I play relaxing background music, but you can request silence or bring your own playlist if you’d really like to. Some clients request rain sounds, bird sounds or white noise during their session, I am happy to play the most relaxing music for you during your treatment. 

Aftercare & Results

What should I do after my massage?

Drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activity, and give your body time to relax and absorb the benefits.

Will I feel sore after a massage?

You may feel slight soreness, especially after a deep tissue session. This is normal and should subside within a day or two.

How often should I get a massage?

I always explain to my clients that it is important for them to listen to their body when considering when to best book their next session. This can be dependant on your goals and lifestyle.

Can massage help with anxiety and stress?

Yes, massage therapy is known to reduce cortisol levels, ease tension, and promote mental wellbeing.

Does massage help with sleep?

Absolutely. Many clients report better sleep quality after regular massage treatments.

Conditions & Suitability

Is massage safe during pregnancy?

It is. However, I don’t offer pregnancy massage. I see clients during pregnancy but usually to help with restless legs, foot massage and a relaxing facial and head massage.

Can massage help with sports recovery?

Definitely. Massage helps improve circulation, reduce muscle soreness, and speed up recovery after physical activity.

Is massage therapy good for arthritis?

Massage can provide temporary relief for joint stiffness and improve flexibility in people with arthritis.

Are there any conditions that make massage unsafe?

Massage is not recommended if you have a fever, infectious skin condition, or recent surgery. Always consult your doctor if unsure.

Pricing, Packages & Gift Vouchers

How much does a massage cost at Indulge Massage Therapy?

Prices vary by treatment and length. Please see my treatment menu for full details.

Do you offer any package deals or memberships?

No. This is not something I offer but I often send out offers and loyalty discounts for regular clients.

Can I buy a gift voucher for someone else?

Absolutely. Gift vouchers are available, these are perfect for birthdays or special occasions. Get in touch for more information.

Do you offer group bookings or couples massages?

Sadly this isn’t something I’m able to offer. 

Is there a cancellation fee?

I require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations within 12 hours prior to the treatment will incur a fee - see my cancellation policy.

Facilities & Accessibility

Where are you located?

I am conveniently located near Pastures Lodge, near Mexborough, Doncaster and is roughly 10 minutes from the A1 at junction 35. 

Is there parking available?

Yes, I have free on-street parking for clients.

Are your treatment rooms private?

Yes, all treatments are carried out in a private, relaxing room designed for your comfort.

Do you have accessible facilities?

My treatment space is accessible. Please contact me in advance if you have specific needs.

Is your space clean and COVID-safe?

Absolutely. I follow strict hygiene protocols and sanitise all equipment and surfaces between clients.

Massage & Wellbeing

How does massage benefit mental health?

Massage releases endorphins, reduces stress hormones, and promotes a feeling of calm and wellbeing.

Can massage help with migraines or tension headaches?

Yes, head and neck massage can ease muscle tension that contributes to headaches.

Do you use essential oils in your treatments?

Yes, I offer aromatherapy massages using a selection of high-quality essential oils.

Can massage improve posture?

Yes, by loosening tight muscles and encouraging body awareness, massage can help correct poor posture.

Is massage therapy a substitute for medical treatment?

Massage is complementary and not a replacement for medical care. Always consult a healthcare provider for serious conditions.

Can I book recurring appointments?

Yes, I offer recurring bookings to help you maintain a regular wellness routine.

Do you accept walk-in appointments?

I recommend booking in advance, but you can call or message me to check last-minute availability.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash, card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and gift vouchers.

Can I get a massage on the same day I book?

Subject to availability, same-day appointments may be possible. Contact me to check.

Additional Information

Can I combine massage treatments?

Yes! Many clients enjoy a mix of treatments like Swedish + Facial/head massage. Just let me know your preferences.

Do you offer corporate wellness packages?

No. This is not something I currently offer. 

Are your massages suitable for older adults?

Yes, I offer gentle massage options specifically suited to seniors.

Can I bring a chaperone to my appointment?

Yes, especially if you're under 18 or prefer someone present for your comfort.

Do you take client feedback seriously?

Absolutely. I value your feedback and use it to continuously improve our services.
